Construction Administration Regulation Published
On 11 March 2019, the “Construction Administration Regulation” was published in the Maldives Gazette.
The Construction Administration Regulation, formulated under the Construction Act which was promulgated on 23 April 2017, largely deals with procedural matters concerning developing and maintaining stringent safety standards at construction sites to make those areas safe for the general public, standards concerning architectural drawings, amending architectural drawings, construction work related standards and safety standards to be met prior to using a building, issuance of permits under the Act and Regulation, and a fine regime for non-compliance.
The Regulation shall take effect from 11 March, onwards.
